I had the same thought six years ago, well before Bakken was developed [http://berbs.us/x/kvlks http://berbs.us/x/kvlks]. The state also has massive coal reserves, a large hydroelectric dam, and vast fields of wind turbines. If it was a good idea then, it's an even better idea now.
