I've read through these comments, and one useful app that has not been mentioned is Vespucci: https://vespucci.io/ https://vespucci.io/ It's not got the best UX, but it does let me edit anything from my phone. This means that I can easily check and/or edit the tags for a path or a track. For example, recently I was on a track that had steps. These weren't on OSM, but I could modify the track on Vespucci to add them. Easier to do on my laptop, but I'd forget to do them by the time I got home. The other OSM apps, I can recommend but have been mentioned are CoMaps (https://www.comaps.app/ https://www.comaps.app/) for viewing and route finding and Street Complete for easily updating data. Street Complete (https://streetcomplete.app/ https://streetcomplete.app/) has got a bit more powerful recently as you can now add things like toilets, bins, and benches
