Then society should have the right to end your life as soon as you're no longer useful as you've just reduced yourself to an algorithm, what value do you serve if you're just a next word predictor ?
Reducing your self worth like that is a very stupid thing to do.
- lern_too_spel 5d agoHow does describing something reduce its worth?
- willy_k 5d agoIts a grossly incomplete description. A reductive description.
- skeledrew 5d agoWe use incomplete descriptions all the time. Like I could say "I'm an early riser". Is that reductive?
- kelseyfrog 4d agoAll statements are reductive because language is injective to reality.
- nagaiaida 4d agowould you care to share your interpretation of the function of the word "just" upthread? because that would appear to be the operative part doing the reducing that you've conveniently left out here.
- skeledrew 4d agoI could also say "I'm just a teacher". No significant difference made by "just" in this context, beyond giving flavour.
- bamboozled 4d agoThe reason people squash bugs with almost zero guilt is because they see the bugs as "nothing". If people voluntarily advertise themselves as "no things" or "just something" then you make the justification for similar treatment totally fine. How do you think those who who commit genocide see their victims?
