Treat Google like a mountain. You can climb the mountain, but you can't move it
- verdverm 11d agoOne can also drive past a mountain, any Gemini is DOA where I work, Google has disappointed us across many products in the last 2 years, they are trashing their brand reputation with slop, poor delivery, false promises, and user hostile price changes. Leadership needs to change (Sundar, Kurain, Logan)
- protimewaster 11d agoI agree with all of this, but I also feel like it describes nearly every other big tech company over the same time period.
- verdverm 11d agoYeah, we let big tech go to far. I think a foundational poor decision was letting algos use big data to figure out what triggers our engagement in online platforms, which has spread to more industries, notably from social media to news media.
- ltononro 11d agogemini 2.5 pro was SOTA back then, it just took a while to get back, that is it. the way google build products is sooo much better than unreliable new tech companies that are just vibecoding everything w/ 300 agentic bugs every time (e.g. claude desktop)
