- when are we getting this version of windows?
- Gud 12d agoWe had it, it was called Windows 2000, and it was awesome. FreeBSD on the server and Windows 2000 on the desktop, a match made in heaven. It was a beautiful year. Since then, computing has only deteriorated.
- nerdsniper 12d agoWindows LTSC / IoT comes pretty damned close. It's the only version I install. I'm always shocked by the <20 processes running in Task Manager on a clean install.
- kasabali 12d agoIt may be 20 less but still hundreds. I'll never understand the LTSC advocacy, it is still the same thing except they mopped up the most disgusting looking liquid seeping out to the floor but didn't touch the huge turd sitting in the middle.
- nerdsniper 11d agoNo in my case it was literally just 20 processes or so. It didnt fill the default window size.
- kasabali 12d ago> - 100% minimal designed for absolute performance coded ground up in rust Rust didn't exist in 90s yet Windows' performance was pretty good speed, consumption or bloat-wise.
