Honestly this is fantastic, it’s possible to gain exposure to say Korean and even hop on video chat with native speakers even if you’re living in Albania.

- adrianN 14d agoStruggling with languages is often a function of not putting enough hours into learning them, and less a function of age. Of course finding time can get more difficult after you leave school.
- 999900000999 14d agoI also don’t have any real motivation. I’d imagine if the CEO of Samsung offered me a 500k TC role on the condition I become fluent in Korean within 18 months I’d put in more effort.
- RugnirViking 14d agomotivation is absolutely huge. There was a survey of language learners iirc and the most common reason for learning a language all the way to fluency was because it was a a significant other's mother tongue. Heck, thats my motivation for my language learning right now! I've heard people say that once you get one learned this way, other languages are easier, because you're much more clear eyed about the process (though few truly go beyond 4 or 5 to a high level)
