In my experience this is how HNers see a lot of roles or professions that are not software developer. Finance = Patrick Bateman, lawyer = Saul Goodman, etc.
- brabel 21d agoHaha! Sometimes non techies think software developers are just like those from the Silicon Valley series. Sometimes a bit too close to reality though.
- sebzim4500 21d agoI think the difference is that Silicon Valley clearly had writers who were very familiar with software engineers and founder culture etc. Whereas no one on the set of e.g. Suits has ever had contact with the legal system
