EU regulators...wake up!
- szszrk 21d agoThey absolutely should, but what would be their impact on American companies buying each other out?
- alpineman 21d agoIf they want to operate in the EU, quite a lot. See cases against Microsoft, Apple for example.
- szszrk 20d agoOK, can you provide specific cases/articles about it? I'm curious what can EU do with a merger of companies that are not legal identities within EU. It's different for their local counterparts, but the original companies?
- alpineman 20d agoMicrosoft/Activision Blizzard was tough for Microsoft in the EU despite them both being US companies, because they affected European consumers.
- zoobab 21d agoLet's file an antitrust complain. Not just on this HF acquisition, but on the whole ecosystem monopoly.
- ahartmetz 21d agoI also see this as an antitrust case, but to see that, you need to be much more up to date on technology than anyone who decides such things. It's comparable to the biggest bank buying the biggest ratings agency.
- Danox 19d agoThis is another Arm Holdings moment (sold to the Japanese) the EU won’t do nothing. They are run by short term lawyers, not engineers.
