"They contined screaming even after my friend explained it was his first day at the company." Yep - that was similar to this. Not a moment of "oh... hang on... let me dig deeper". It was just an explosion. And FWIW, I've exploded on to other people a couple of times in my career - it's not fun. But I also can recognize it's a symptom of something deeper than just the issue being yelled about, and usually very unrelated to the topic at hand.
