- dgacmu 25d agoMost likely you're seeing the causality in the wrong direction - poverty creates a strong incentive to go for immediate benefits rather than absorb the risk of one that is delayed.

- gmadsen 24d agoThat is a fairly sterile reading of the situation. It’s hard to explain to those who haven’t been close to it. It’s like how defaulting to invest in a 401k creates massive improvements for savings for the population with a 401k There are those who will frivolously spend money that could pay an electricity bill, then end up without power.
