- firebot 1mo agoThe figure comes from methane satellites and other methods (planes, drones, etc.) Pulse.ghgsat.com as I recall. It's down these days(discontinued). It used to be free. They used to do reports on what they found. I think their stuff is all commercialized now. :\ Pulse was pretty cool. They had a global map where you could see various emissions going back years and years and years and you could watch it unfold over time. The closest thing I've found to that is ESA Copernicus browser looking at the sentinel(s) data: https://browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu/ https://browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu/ Or tabulate it yourself: https://climatetrace.org/compare https://climatetrace.org/compare Change the gas to CH4. Now add up the top 20 where it indicates it's from the oil or gas industry? I got to 20 megatons(Tg) adding just the first 13!
