We already had a system in France which is phased out. The difference is that that previous system was opt-in, and now it i the duty of the telemarketers to get authorization. The problem is that many of the calls come from abroad (and most will move there), so there is no easy way to enforce this requirement. It is only if someone files a complaint ... and the authorities track the number abroad ... and match it to a French provider ... that it will work. Anyway it is better than nothing. I stopped to reply to calls that I do not have in my contacts. If it is important someone will leave a message or send an SMS/WhatsApp
