I think they would consider themselves white from a different nations. Many north american natives come from different tribes but they are still Indian. Same thing.
- vrganj 1mo agoThey'd consider themselves Croatian and Serbian. Whiteness is an American construct that is absolutely meaningless and smushes literal millenia of history into OBE category because your country's history is so short. Please refrain from spreading nonsense you clearly know nothing about.
- ipaddr 1mo agoThose are not choices on a form with race. Presented with a form they would select white. Nationalism isn't race. You are losing the debate changing goalposts doesn't work.
- vrganj 1mo agoThere is no such thing as race in Europe. You still do not understand the very fundamentals. The forms would not indicate white, they'd indicate Croat and Serbian. Here's the census from back when they shared a country: [0]. Note the absence of "white". A Croat will never agree they are the same anything as a Serb. Your limited understanding smushed millennia of history into the primitive categories your country developed in it's short existence. They have zero meaning here and your continued ignorance serves as example why it would be better for everyone if you stopped talking about things you know nothing about. - ipaddr 1mo ago"no such thing as race in Europe" You lost the debate here. People classify themselves in a million ways. But we are talking race. Next you'll say there are no males or females just Croats or Serbs. No blonds or brown haired people just Serbs or Croats. Lol.
- vrganj 1mo agoAgain, you don't understand. Race is absolutely meaningless here. It is a concept developed in the US a few hundred years ago to justify slavery. You insist it maps to our continent, which has had identities develop long before we came to invade your part of the world. It does not, no matter how much you insist. You told me it's what people would pick on forms. I showed you the form. It wasn't even an option. There is no debate. It is just you trying to map your racial animus to a set of societies that based on your continued confusion are much too complex for you to understand and me trying to educate you. Croats and Serbs are just the most obvious example. We can also play the same game with Poles and Russians or any number of ethnicities.

- vrganj 1mo agoYou are trying to muddle millennia of identity into the primitive broad strokes that are the only thing your country is capable of. A Pole is fundamentally different from an Englishman is fundamentally different from a Greek. Your silly wide standards do not apply here and any argument based on them deserves to be laughed out of the room.
- surgical_fire 1mo agoI commend your patience in trying to debate a racist. But you proved it is futile. Racism must be some sort of cognitive disability. He is completely unable to understand how the world works beyond skin color.
