> My problem with having many different choices that will actually have consequences for the game play is that I’m always worried I didn’t choose the best path through the game. But my main issue with having a lot of options, is that I won’t get to experience the whole story without playing through the game multiple times.
As someone who's often annoyed by games that make you choose between dialogue options that all lead to the exact same result, this criticism alone was enough to convince me to buy the game.
- suprjami 1mo agoTactics Ogre (PSP and Reborn) solves this but giving you a map of the storyline. You can travel back to "anchor points" where the story diverges, so you can experience the whole game without starting over. https://ogrebattlesaga.fandom.com/wiki/WORLD_System https://ogrebattlesaga.fandom.com/wiki/WORLD_System
- DuncanCoffee 1mo ago999 has something similar, maybe only in its "new" version. You can see if you still have something to unlock in a scene, and start from that one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/999:_Nine_Hours,_Nine_Persons,_Nine_Doors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/999:_Nine_Hours,_Nine_Persons,...
