For me it's a reverse filter, the people I see doing the shaming, those the loudest most seemingly unhinged anti-AI folks - they get blocked / ignored and looked at as if they were the equiv of PETA activists.
- orangedog 1mo agoYes, I avoided using it for the longest but the voices that end up pushing me away these days are the antis who gatekeep like crazy, say other people are lazy, decry anything they don't like as "slop" etc. One side is moving forward and I'm sure they'll figure out the right mix over time. The group that just denigrates other people, I wonder how they will cope over the next few years.
- badprose 1mo ago> I wonder how they will cope over the next few years Perhaps they will pool together enough widespread stories of issues with AI (drones, surveillance, misleading advertising, etc) and create a political movement to try to ban or regulate it; only to then have their movement co-opted by the people who just want to get paid.
