Oh come on. Laws aren't immutable. If this were an actual issue, you'd easily be able to point out all the previous times similar laws have kept us stuck on outdated standards. For some reason that's never the line of argumentation, it's always just "it will never change". Some political systems are actually able to pass & update laws.
