> It is not possible to send Wero payments to friends & family via a web browser or on a computer
Truly independent from US companies ... If you don't have an iOS or an Android device, you are just stuck, once again
- bornfreddy 2mo agoOne step at a time. Until then, you can use Murena or GrapheneOS.
- sisve 2mo agoAfAIK wero needs Google Play Integrity. So you are still stuck with Google. When that are said. I 100% agree with you - one step at a time. I think Wero will no longer depend on that in 3–5 years. It's just real challenges that the European banking system needs to figure out. The EU works slow, but it does move :) Kind of like the Ents in LOTR
- rihegher 2mo agoWell 2 weeks ago I have managed to send and received a wero transaction from my /e/Os without Google play. Someone is wrong here
- sisve 2mo agoWow. Interesting. Do you know how that was done? The latest I heard about an alternative to Google play services was https://www.heise.de/en/news/Paying-without-Google-New-consortium-wants-to-remove-custom-ROM-hurdles-11204037.html https://www.heise.de/en/news/Paying-without-Google-New-conso... If you where able to send and receive I was obviously wrong. I'm very glad but also confused.
- rihegher 2mo agoWe have not used the wero app directly but my bank app which does not require Google play but has integrated the use of wero to send or receive money from or to bank accounts. My bank is LCL in France
- eigenspace 2mo ago> AfAIK wero needs Google Play Integrity. So you are still stuck with Google. Wero has no such requirement. The bank that you use to interoperate with Wero might require Google Play Integrity though.
- sisve 2mo agoThanks for the correction
- edwinjm 2mo agoYou can use your PC
- yonatan8070 2mo agoCan you elaborate?
- bluebarbet 2mo agoIt is very clear than you cannot. Yet.
- Barrin92 2mo agothe barrier to spinning up an alternative European Android operating system given that it's open source is not that high, see China, and my money would be on that happening within the next few years.
- Pooge 2mo ago> > It is not possible to send Wero payments to friends & family via a web browser or on a computer Wow, that's a deal breaker for me. I don't need yet another service that's only accessible to a dumbed down device. Here I was hoping that it'd become available in my country as well...
- Elfener 2mo agoThat second quote is truly a sentence of all time. It is not possible to use this [computer payment system] on a computer...
