I think distillation is inevitable and pretty hard to prevent but I also dunno why anyone would spend billions to train frontier models if there's enough distillation going on to get near it with much lower spend.
- slashdave 2mo agoOh, you mean not commit fraud? Why would any respectable company do that?
- potsandpans 2mo agoExcept this is not fraud. And just because a company _really_ wants to make a trillion dollar valuation doesn't mean they get to invent a new type of fraud.
