Village in UK Successful Succession Vote
- Eaglo 2mo agoIronically, on the 4th of July, they voted to succeed following notification 1250 migrants were going to be relocated to their village of 350. It's kind of sad, their village website has the most wholesome folksy stuff (like barn dances and whatnot). That's going to change with the addition of 1250 single men. I can see why they are fighting for independence.
- ButlerianJihad 2mo agoAre you the one who updated the Wikipedia article? Because you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
- ButlerianJihad 2mo agoThey voted for independence, and so I think that the shitty, illiterate, anonymous Wikipedia editor who added this unsourced addition was grasping for the word "secede" rather than "succeed": https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/succeed#Etymology_2 https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/succeed#Etymology_2 https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/secede#English https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/secede#English There is really no definition of "succeed" or "succession" that would describe what has happened here.
- FrankWilhoit 2mo agoYou don't get it. Using words correctly is woke.
- beardyw 2mo agoAnd a vote is just a vote.
