It looks like someone took the liberty to add Matz to that list since your comment, although the reference they used is just to Ruby's wikipedia page which makes no mention of him being a BDFL.
- tubbo 14y agoHe really isn't...a lot of the biggest and most helpful changes to Ruby have come from other contributors, so IMO that's kind of a good thing. One of my favorite Matz-isms is how he emphasizes CHOICE in the language, rather than OPINION. Opinion belongs in your framework, not your language. It's much easier to move frameworks than it is languages, and since our opinions are so fluid, it makes no sense to stick with a language with opinions that may or may not be valid in 4 years...
