PSA stop putting bigco IP in your project names!
has clawdbot taught us nothing?
- doctorpangloss 2mo agois "Notepad" a bigco IP project name?
- JeremyHerrman 2mo agoyes, microsoft does hold a trademark for notepad. As litigious as MS is I'm pleasantly surprised they've left notepad++ alone. Unfortunately anthropic is actively eroding community goodwill in regards to potential IP conflicts: https://abnormal.ai/blog/abnormal-response-to-anthropic-lawsuit https://abnormal.ai/blog/abnormal-response-to-anthropic-laws... https://x.com/steipete/status/2016068265391354181 https://x.com/steipete/status/2016068265391354181
- nolok 2mo agoMicrosoft has a lot of trademark meant to protect them from agression rather than attack themselves
- beAbU 2mo agoIf MS can go after notepad++ then Bjarne Stroustrup can go after C#?
- giancarlostoro 2mo agoThe name C++ is not trademarked, only the logo iirc.
- doctorpangloss 2mo agoHaha the better question is can the notepad++ guy go after notepad++ (for mac)?
- giancarlostoro 2mo agoI made "qNotepad" in college, it's been on GitHub forever, never gotten any DMCAs or anything. Maybe they don't care that deeply?
- tidbeck 2mo agoGuess it is efficient for attention.
- brazukadev 2mo agowhat clawbot taught "us" is that it is a good strategy.
