From what I have seen, there are no side effects at all. They go back to smoking when the opportunity arises, but that's another story.

- SoftTalker 2mo agoYeah I know someone who is having real trouble stopping, he can cold-turkey for a few days but always starts up again. I think he has poor impulse control, which maybe GLP-1s could help, as some studies seem to indicate they help with cravings/impulsive behavior generally. I don't know if any MD would prescribe it for that, he's not obese so could not get it on that basis.
- DANmode 2mo agoHe looks like he’s really addicted to sports betting to me! Worth trying a tiny dose, from what I understand. Exploring what he’s self-medicating (and if it can actually be addressed otherwise), is worthwhile, too. Brain and body/physiology are careful balancing acts!
- uwagar 2mo agoyes there are no side effects. i have cold turkeyed twice (once when actually in turkey). and nothing bad happened. even AI was telling nothing bad wud happen. but im usually a light user. say 4 joints a day with 4 grains of # in each.
- DANmode 2mo agoIt really depends on your physiology. People quit cigarettes without incident, too!
