Just buy a Mac Mini really is good advice if you want to get into real, always-on convenient agentic work.
Soon it is going to be good even for coding using local LLMs. Until then, just run API models on it for coding, local LLMs for "knowledge" work or daily driver agent like Hermes.

- klardotsh 3mo agoEspecially with anything resembling a usable amount of RAM. Mac Minis and Studios >=64GB are basically permanently sold out everywhere, because everyone, including commercial entities with deeper pockets than most of us plebs, has the exact same idea at the exact same time.
- KiwiJohnno 3mo agoI ordered a mac mini m4 pro with 48 gb of ram a couple of weeks ago. Apple said 8-9 weeks.
