Remember that scene from "Men in Black" where K watches surveillance video feed of his ex? In the movie it was meant to be wistful and cute, I guess. Now that such systems are getting closer to reality, you realize the potential for abuse in enormous.
- Ancapistani 3mo agoMore like his widow than his ex - he was unable to ever contact her, which is what made it cute rather than creepy.

- kelipso 3mo agoAll about perspective! Plenty of romance stories that start out with stalking. (Though I guess from a social normative conversation pov, you would want to keep up the kayfabe).
- FireBeyond 3mo agoI mean at least in that situation, K was forbidden from ever making contact with his ex, with far greater consequences.

- nancyminusone 3mo agoThat was after having his memory erased though. Which, if Flock streams automatically did the same thing, would probably help with the ethical issues for those they surveil.
