These are just some somewhat recent IPOs that come to mind, I am sure I am forgetting some.
In the case of GPRO, look up their first quarterly reports after the IPO. Pure comedy gold.
- beernet 3mo agoThis comparison is nuts and invalid. Each of Anthropic/OpenAI/SpaceX has more revenue than the mentioned companies combined at IPO time. Doomers gonna doom

- beernet 3mo agoSome people here truly need a bunch of lessons in economics and capital markets. This is not about making a profit at this point in time. Each of these companies could turn profitable im a heartbeat if they wanted to. Which would be exactly the moment in which they lost the race and become irrelevant.
- Lord-Jobo 3mo agoIs revenue the only metric we care about for this? Seems like stability and p-e ratio should at least be a factor? Which you can’t get until the ipo has actually settled.
