Random side note. Why do many of these (presumably) LLM stamped out sites have the same aesthetic where they all need a pulsating indicator at the top as if to indicate some sort of urgency aesthetic?
- grahamnorton39 5mo agoOr the thing where they have a bombastic display of numbers, rehashing either emphatically trivial information, or information presented elsewhere, as if they’re the most important figures in the universe. e.g. > *0* hedge fund owners. Zero or including the date Spirit collapsed (despite already mentioning it earlier on the page!). Why not also include “*6* letters in ‘Spirit’” while you’re at it?

- addandsubtract 5mo agoTemplates need to be filled. Breaking template rules requires actual thinking.
- tbrownaw 5mo agoBut without a sense of urgency the marks might stop to think first.
- danaw 5mo agoassuming it's an llm site, the implication here is some action needs to be taken before private equity buys it for scraps (inferred from the homepage copy) whether it's an llm, a template or bespoke made from bytecode doesn't really matter does it?

- danaw 5mo agoi was one of the weirdos that used em dashes pre-llms but yeah it can def be an indicator
- drabbiticus 5mo agoWe may be getting off-topic, but I despise how LLMS made em-dashes a thing that people associate with slop posts.
- danaw 5mo agoit's because they were trained on lots of stolen fluff pieces in major publications, also part of why they have such an annoyingly positive tone
