  I'd suggest looking at https://alternativeto.net/software/github/ https://alternativeto.net/software/github/ for a more comprehensive list. I recommend Codeberg if your project is free, GitLab if you don't mind it being in the US, SourceHut if you believe in paying for products instead of being the product, and Forgejo or Gitea if you'd rather self-host.

    +1 for Codeberg. I dual-host, on Github in the US and on Codeberg in the land of the free and home of the brave (if you count Ukraine as part of Europe for the latter).
