It's not an Apple thing, though they may have adopted it first. Basically every high end laptop comes with TB4 or 5 ports.

- epenn 5mo agoIt was originally codeveloped by Apple and Intel. Though from Thunderbolt 3 onward Intel has been the sole developer.
