Datacenters already exist. Putting datacenters in space does not offer any new capabilities.
- _fizz_buzz_ 8mo agoThis is the main point I think. I am very much convinced that SpaceX is capbable to put a datacenter into space. I am not convinced they can do it cheaper than building a datacenter on earth.
- notahacker 8mo agoI would be a lot more convinced they had found a way to solve the unit economics if it was being used to secure billion dollar deposits from other companies rather than as the narrative for rolling a couple of Elon's loss making companies into SpaceX and IPOing...
