SFPark: Interactive map of SF parking regulations
- isubkhankulov 8mo agoThere’s a pretty good, mostly free app called SpotAngels that handles most, if not all, of these parking rules.
- rimbo789 8mo agoThere is no such thing as free parking. All parking on public land (be it a street or a city owned lot) should be paid
- antonkochubey 8mo agowalking and sitting on a bench as well, correct?
- gtowey 8mo agoNo, the idea is that storing cars takes up a lot of public space. Each parking space is basically a tiny garage. Why do we give away garage space for free to car owners? Storage for your vehicle in a busy city shouldn't be subsided by default. The space is too valuable and could be used instead for better public benefit.
- alright2565 8mo agoSure, at the same rate as cars, $20/hr per 12.5m^2. Since I take up about .25m^2, my bill for today ought to be about $0.10, so let me know how I should pay it. Or we can acknowledge the reason we have money: to distribute scare resources. Parking in urban areas is scarce and expensive, while space to walk and sit simply isn't.
- threethirtytwo 8mo agoWe paid with taxes. What is fucking incredulous is that we need to pay TWICE. I wish the extra money would fund building better public transport.
- iancmceachern 8mo agoYou are right It's paid for by taxes on the fuel. No need to double charge.
