Ask HN: Anyone still using RSS feeds?
- brynet 9mo agoI have a low volume rss feed for my static-HTML articles, but I'm also using rss for the embedded mastodon feed on my website. https://brynet.ca/ https://brynet.ca/
- andrewinardeer 9mo agoYes. It's how I browse HN. Rss for articles +25 points to Pushover onto my phone.
- DamonHD 9mo agoYes
- Bender 9mo agoI see bots trying to generate feeds in my access logs. Some of them are coded very poorly, ignore cache-controls, re-check articles every 30 seconds indefinitely. So it would seem they are still used. daily-digest/1.0 (Article Reader) is the worst one I have seen thus far.
- JohnFen 9mo agoYes
- PaulHoule 9mo agoYes. I just debugged problems with our RSS feed at work. I have my own intelligent RSS reader called YOShInOn which learns my preferences.
- leephillips 9mo agoEvery day. Who doesn’t?
- aebtebeten 9mo agoHow else could I find the interesting 1-3% of HN in a reasonable amount of time?
- andyjohnson0 9mo agoYes, every day.
- mircerlancerous 9mo agoI do but I feel it's long overdue for replacement. I've been working on a new protocol that includes timestamp filtering, real-time notifications, and optional things like 'likes' and 'comments'. I use it everyday and I load it with content from RSS feeds. Not ready for sharesies yet though
- dansult 9mo agoMiniflux is how I subscribe to much of my tech content via their RSS. Always a little disappointed when no RSS is available for interesting blogs.
