  The article says that people who eat a lot of garlic smell better than without it. (Although maybe not their breath. Last time I was in Japan I tried an iekei ramen place and smelled so much like garlic to myself I was too embarrassed to go outside for the next day or two.) IIRC the lingering curry cooking smell is from fenugreek.
