What you describe is the principle of presumption of innocence. Shame it seems to be a lost concept in the land of the free nowadays.
- Terr_ 11mo agoI feel it goes a bit beyond that, because at this point it's also the presumption that those governments are operating recklessly and with knowing dishonestly.
- flowerthoughts 11mo agoYou could argue that presuming you're an alien implies that rights given by law don't necessarily apply to you. It's far worse than being presumed guilty.
