I started with Jekyll, and tried out Hugo since there was all the hype. I didn't had the same issues as OP, but Hugo docs are so confusing that I just gave up

I started with Jekyll, and tried out Hugo since there was all the hype. I didn't had the same issues as OP, but Hugo docs are so confusing that I just gave up and switched back.
