Ask HN: What now occupies a web domain you used to own?
I'm sure some of us have had domains and have let them expire. Anything interesting at any of your old domains?
- Mister_X 1y agoAll five of my former domains since 1999 are now placeholders by squatters.
- rpjt 1y agoThis is true for one of mine. Bought it for $12.99 a couple of years ago and now GoDaddy is squatting on it, wanting about $5k
- al_borland 1y agoI really wish the powers that be would do something about domain squatting. Any decent name is unavailable, or simply unattainable due to the high price… when most of them are sitting unused.
- rpjt 1y agoHow might we influence those powers to do something about this? I can't imagine anyone in opposition except for those who make a living off of squatting.
