Well that is just dumb. If you're young and don't know what you want to study, and change your major a few times, then yes, you should not be doing it while paying $56k a year. Leaving to go work for a while would be smarter until you lock it down a bit more. But just drop the "i left BU to do awesome work" thing and how much academia held you back from doing that awesome work.
