I wish people would gamble with something other than a proof-of-work coin. There are very similar alternatives now. When bitcoin rises, more money is spent on mining. Whoever holds bitcoin is in part responsible for this waste of energy.

- FabHK 1y agoAbsolutely. 1% of world electricity, with the waste approximately proportional to the Bitcoin price (due to medium term market forces) modulo halvings, of course.

- robocat 1y agoOutside of the US it isn't that easy (to invest in individual shares - because there's not much that's attractive) With the current US administration I haven't been that keen to be invested in US shares either. And I attempt to be somewhat ethical in my investments - that really limits my options.
