I've had a similar experience. These tools are pretty helpful for small scripts or quick utility code, but once you're working on something with a more complex structure and lots of dependencies, they tend to slow down. Sometimes it takes more effort to fix what they generate than to just write it myself. I still use them, but more as a support tool than a real assistant.
