Oh my god. Just press for laws to be adjusted so we can have longer trucks already. It’s way more efficient, especially than using two trucks when one truck would do the job. You’ve got all this technology adding point of failures and additional cost to operate. You can use an advanced computer system to drive a second trailer, or just hitch them together and no extra tech needed
- cratermoon 1y agoSeriously. In some parts of the country you'll see trucks with 3 shorter (29') trailers, while in others you'll see only 53' trailers. I've seen 53' trailers get caught in tight curves on California highways that 29' trains would easily pass.
