Show HN: Image2video.app – Transform Ghibli-style images into videos using AI
Hi HN,
I’ve developed a web app that lets you turn static Ghibli-style images into animated videos. It uses AI to create smooth, dynamic animations from your uploads. I will also add Ghibli-style images generation abilities in the app soon. I’d love to hear your feedback and see what you create with it :)

- bobxmax 1y agoMy feedback is that you should delete this and do something worthwhile rather than help propagate more machine-generated filth.

- thebruce87m 1y agoCan someone fill me in on why the comments so far are highly critical? Is it the art style (looks familiar but don’t know much about it) or just the genAI aspect that people are tired of?

- thebruce87m 1y agoI’m not trolling, so it’s a copyright thing for the art style. From the comments it seemed to be something worse. Makes sense, thanks.
- Klonoar 1y agoIt’s not just copyright, it’s the respect for the artist behind the style itself. Don’t boil it down to just corporate/legalese. What you’re seeing is a human reaction.
- thebruce87m 1y agoI wasn’t trying to reduce it, someone called it “filth” and someone else said they’d go to hell and so I wondered if it was something to do with an art style normally associated with prohibited material or something like that.
- jasfi 1y agoArtists should be able to opt-out so the debate can be resolved. AFAIK they can. Also, Ghibli will likely benefit from the huge amount of publicity they've had with the AI image gen rush. It's the artists/studios that don't get named that would likely complain.
