Your countrymen literally voted in Trump, and they did it with broad support across many parts of the country. You can argue that a significant proportion didn't, which is true, but while democrats and the like show increasing distaste which can be explained along general partisan lines, on the other side is a significant number of Trump supporters who show themselves strongly supportive of and behind his general policies and proclamations. To pretend otherwise or call that fearmongering is to deny all reality.

- dralley 1y agoTrump said a lot of horrible shit during and prior to the campaign which you can blame his supporters for implicitly backing. But all of this shit about Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal only started after the election.
- Volundr 1y agoGreenland at least was a thing even in his first term. I'm not sure about the timeline on Panama and Canada, but I also don't see his supporters condemning the rhetoric or even distancing themselves from it.
- phoobahr 1y agoHe spouted every kind of hateful shit, and surrounded himself with even more vile shitstains. Every terrible thing imaginable was put on the table. Some Americans may not have liked the alternative but this election was never about “better” or more tolerable” or any thing else except shortsighted hate. Reap what you so, this turd sand which does what it said on the tin.
- gigatree 1y agoI can guarantee you that his victory had nothing to do with “invading Canada” and almost everything to do with choosing the more desirable of two options.
- infecto 1y agoGiven the past 3 months that’s a pretty comical statement to make. Let’s be realistic though, it had everything to do with the cult of personality. It is as simple as that and if those folks want him that badly, well they fully deserve to feel all impact of that which includes invasion of Canada.
