Nitter Is Not Dead

I'm happy to announce nitter.net has finally returned. Instability is expected for a while until scraping prevention is improved, etc. Running an instance is now both difficult and expensive, but it's possible. If anybody is interested please feel free to message me on Matrix. I'll be updating the guest_accounts PR soon and merge it to master, stay tuned.

- eviks 2y agoGlad it's back, though it's a sad state of affairs that it requires so much effort to achieve basic readability comforts on the social web...
- RestartKernel 2y agoI know the enshittification is inevitable, but one of the best things about BlueSky getting prominence is that they actually allow you to view everything without logging in.

- dedzu 2y agoYeah it kept working better than pretty much any other instances throughout but glad there should be more coming soon.
- mthmcalixto 2y agoYes, I used xcancel.com after it started appearing online. It's good, maybe it's because of it that Nitter came back.
