Not a lawyer but looks fairly straightforward. Google payed Apple billions of $ to be the default iPhone search engine. US says it's an anti-competitive and is currently suing Google. Part of the suit is that plaintiffs proposed a remedial term unique to Apple that would forbid any “contract between Google and Apple in which there would be anything exchanged of value.” That means Apple is going to be out of $20 billions per year (or whatever Google pays to Apple) for the foreseeable future. Apple does not like this and tries to inject themselves into lawsuit on the side of Google.
