Ask HN: Equifax Breach Settlement – Prorata Payouts
A couple years ago I received a windfall $5.21 payout from the Equifax breach settlement (remember that!?)
I received an email today and it set off my internal phishing gut check - but it seems like it could be plausible.
Did anyone else receive something similar?

- allears 2y agoYup, I got one too. But the process of registering, handing over all your personal info, etc., just to get a $10 gift card, seemed not at all worth it. Besides, with a gift card, you're never gonna have a purchase that's covered exactly, so you're likely to either overspend or leave a balance on the card.
- binarymax 2y agoHilarious. To get a pittance we need to open ourselves to yet another vector for a leak.
