  This is exactly how the world works. Language does what language wants to, pedants try to fight it, pedants eventually lose. To boldly split an infinitive continues to be correct in spite of it being "wrong".

      It's how all languages work. Some languages have bodies that like to pretend they can regulate them, but it doesn't actually work.
