Fair point. To try and allay these kinds of concerns, we've also provided a completely free option with 100% of the scheduling/reminder functionality of the paid option. Wagering is completely voluntary. Though we think betting a bit of money will increase your motivation, our primary concern is helping people through their classes.
- visarg 14y agoI am developing an English learning course for Romanians. I was thinking of a similar motivation system. At the beginning the user would deposit an amount of money, more or less, depending on his station in life, but large enough to motivate him to finish. At the end he would get the money back. This would also work with parents depositing money or gift cards for children taking the course. Making the attribution of the prize independent of their will is the key.
