Reddit Breaks Old.reddit.com
Looks like the end is here. Old.reddit.com no longer works, so it is time to say goodbye to Reddit for good.
- jcrash 2y agoYes. New reddit is working, but old reddit cannot access subreddits or posts... I hope this is temporary.
- damnesian 2y agoJust moments ago I couldn't post on the iOS app. It's not just an old reddit problem.

- jsheard 2y agoWhat I'd give to see their dashboard showing how many users are still using old reddit...
- hunter2_ 2y agoTotally. Although since my previous comment, the official status page has been updated to mention issues with some non-Old components: "Native Mobile Apps" "Vote Processing" "Comment Processing" so I suppose the DownDetector spike is an unknown combination of people using Old and people using those other things. I assume New web/desktop reddit is able to operate when those functions are degraded by reading from stale cache / faraway regions / other fallbacks, while Old reddit is more directly coupled to those degraded functions.

- nsnow70 2y agoRegular reddit doesn't work so I think that's the issue.
- ftth_finland 2y agoNo issues with new reddit here. Old reddit just serves "You broke Reddit".
- daedrdev 2y agoCheck again, it's truly broken now.
- miles 2y agoTesting now, I'm able to open www.reddit.com links, but not their corresponding old.reddit.com links; the latter lead to a page which says "YOU BROKE REDDIT".
- spurgu 2y agoI thought so too but that's because I'm logged in with setting to use old Reddit. www.reddit.com works in incognito.
- jghn 2y agoThis is the situation I'm seeing. Didn't occur me that old was down because I just have that as my default setting for www.reddit.com.

- rcfox 2y agoIt's not really the underlying software that people care about here.
- chollida1 2y agoThis has happened many times in the past( old.reddit.com doesn't work but new reddit does). Let's calm down and wait a few hours to see if this is just a bad merge on their part.
- peppermint_gum 2y agoYeah, OP is overly dramatic, Reddit has technical issues all the time.

- luuurker 2y agoIt was working fine 2 hours ago. Now it's down, but that happens from time to time... Too soon to panic.

- flenserboy 2y agoin addition to this, ever since the sequoia update I've been getting security failure errors on reddit which sometimes, & sometimes do not, go away with a page reload
