Ask HN: Google cloud asking what are our usecases
We have a google cloud account manager. They keep asking what we are working on in excruciating details. Not providing details means we may have a bad relationship with our cloud provider. How should we handle this?
- doormatt 2y agoGive them details? I mean, you don't have to tell them your secret sauce, but they're there to help you, not to hinder/steal from you.
- junkaccount 2y agoWell I am not sure how they can help by knowing these details when their product provides compute. I dont see any other use of this information than informing their own products about what startups are doing.
- JSDevOps 2y agoWhy are they interested unless they want to use you in a case study or marketing?
- junkaccount 2y agoThey say they can help with Google resources but no NDA no nothing.
- dekhn 2y agoYou don't have to tell them anything. They're just fishing for info. I am curious where the idea that not providing the details would lead to a bad relationship- did they say that? Imply it?
- junkaccount 2y agoNo, it is not explicit. Its like a very important friend asking for your answer sheet on an exam without even assuring they wont look into the answers.
