  So - one lone, unpaid volunteer. For the past 4 years. By far the biggest problem with OSS is the ever-so-convenient assumption that Somebody Else(tm) will always do all the dreary and difficult work.

  "no company has sponsored that work at all" Is this specific work even discoverable for the companies to sponsor? There are many companies donating to the Linux Foundation, shouldn't it (also) distribute that money among volunteers?
