- tetris11 2y agoAnother - AECL, developed the Therac-25 radiation machine that delivered far more the expected dose of radiation than wanted due to a software bug. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Therac-25 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Therac-25 No class action lawsuit, just some relatives of dead patients settling out of court.
- mft_ 2y agoGreat example, but sadly a collective of wronged Postmasters didn’t (at least until recently) have much clout - partly hence the problem. In the Crowdstrike case, we have multiple major airlines, multiple airports, hospitals, and some large media outlets. Probably billions of dollars of losses.
